The Mustang Mach-E is now available with either a standard-range 70.0-kWh battery or an extended-range 91.0-kWh pack! Exciting stuff! These feed a single electric motor on the RWD versions of the Select and Premium, or a motor on each axle in AWD variants of all four trims. But wait, there’s more! In the ultimate GT and GT Performance models that only come with AWD, those motors combine to make a whopping 480 horsepower and up to 634 pound-feet of torque! And that’s not all, in our testing a Mach-E GT Performance shot to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds! Less powerful models with rear-wheel drive make either 266 or 290 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque! The AWD versions of the Select and Premium trims make anywhere from 266 to 346 horsepower, and either 427 or 428 pound-feet. In our last encounter with the Mach-E—an extended-range AWD model—we found the Ford quicker and more engaging than most of its rivals! Beyond the various power levels available, we think that shoppers should absolutely appreciate the Mach-E’s feature set! Its quiet operation and smooth ride are truly remarkable!

2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Range & Battery Charging

Exciting news! Ford has announced that some Mach-E trims in 2023 will feature a new battery chemistry for the smaller, standard-sized pack. With the entire lineup boasting an EPA-estimated range of 224 to 312 miles on a single charge, depending on the size of the battery pack and the number of electric motors, Ford is keeping up with the competition from other major manufacturers. While it may not be the longest-range Tesla model, it’s still an impressive feat! Every Mach-E comes with fast-charging capability! And the included mobile home charging unit, when plugged into a 120-volt household outlet, can add up to 30 miles of range per night! Plug the mobile unit into a 240-volt outlet and it can replenish up to 80 percent of battery capacity overnight! Ford also sells a more powerful home charging station that needs to be installed by certified electricians. When hooked up to that device, the Mach-E’s battery gains up to 28 miles of range for every hour of charging!

The Mustang Mach-E is an absolute game-changer, boasting an impressive 110 MPGe in the city and 96 MPGe on the highway for the rear-wheel drive base model! Even the highest-performing GT Performance trim is still incredibly efficient, with ratings of 90 MPGe city and 77 MPGe highway. We can’t wait to put the 2024 Mach-E to the test on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route as part of our extensive testing regimen. With such impressive numbers, we’re excited to see what kind of real-world range this electric vehicle can achieve!

Ford’s next-generation Sync infotainment system uses machine learning to fully personalize each driver’s experience. It currently supports three driver profiles and one guest. The Mustang Mach-E runs the software through a vertically mounted 15.5-inch touchscreen that provides easy access to the system’s array of apps and features. A benefit of the system is that Ford will be rolling out over-the-air updates over time, constantly improving the system and adding new content. Top features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and, depending on the trim level, a Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The Mustang Mach-E’s battery is sandwiched between the floor and floorboard, skateboard-style, creating excellent space for passengers and cargo. The streamlined dashboard houses an attractive digital gauge cluster and is dominated by a large, vertically oriented touchscreen. A pocket under the floating flip-up armrest between the front passengers is large enough to swallow a handbag. Behind the rear seats, the boot offers 29 cubic feet of cargo space, or up to 60 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. A list of smart standard and optional features includes customizable ambient interior lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof and a hard plastic-lined front boot that can be used like a cooler before rinsing and draining.
