Polestar 5 UAE: Price, Range and Specs
7 min read

The Polestar 5 UAE price opens at AED 439,000, and Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility opened order books at the end of October 2026. The numbers are serious: a 112 kWh pack on an 800-volt architecture, 748 hp and a claimed 678 km WLTP in Dual motor form, or 884 hp and 558 km if you take the Performance version. Charging peaks at 350 kW, which Polestar says takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 22 minutes. What the spec sheet will not tell you is how much of that range survives a UAE summer, or what a Polestar is worth three years later here.

Polestar 5 UAE price and the two versions

Two variants reach the UAE, and the choice between them is unusually clear-cut because they are not simply fast and faster.

VersionPowerClaimed WLTP rangeBattery / architecture
Dual motor748 hp678 km112 kWh, 800 V
Performance884 hp558 km112 kWh, 800 V

The conclusion the table forces is the interesting one: the Performance costs you 120 km of claimed range to gain 136 hp. In a country where the useful long drives are Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Dubai to Al Ain or the run down to Liwa, 120 km is the difference between arriving relaxed and planning a charging stop. Unless you specifically want the quicker car for its own sake, the Dual motor is the better-judged buy and the one we would spend the money on. Pricing from AED 439,000 and these figures come from DriveArabia's UAE launch report; Polestar has not published a separate AED figure for the Performance at the time of writing.

Range and charging, with the heat factored in

Treat 678 km as a laboratory ceiling, not a plan. WLTP testing runs in mild conditions with no air conditioning load, and the UAE gives an electric car the two things that hurt range most at once: sustained motorway speed and a cooling system fighting ambient heat for the cabin and the battery at the same time. Expect a meaningful shortfall against the claim between June and September. That is not a Polestar failing, it applies to every EV sold here, but it does mean a 678 km badge should not be read as "Dubai to Muscat without thinking."

There is a second heat consideration that rarely gets mentioned at the point of sale. Repeated rapid DC charging in high ambient temperatures puts more thermal stress on a battery pack than the same charging would in a temperate climate, because the cooling system starts from a worse baseline. Polestar manages this actively, and the practical effect for an owner is simply that charge rates taper earlier on a hot afternoon than the headline 350 kW figure implies. If you can do the bulk of your charging overnight at home, you avoid most of this entirely, which is the single biggest factor in whether an EV at this price makes sense for you in the UAE.

The 800-volt architecture is the genuinely useful part. It is what allows the 350 kW peak and the 22-minute 10-to-80 percent claim, and it future-proofs the car against charger upgrades. The caveat is that 350 kW chargers remain scarce in the UAE, so most owners will see considerably slower real-world sessions on the more common units. On a home wall box the 112 kWh pack is an overnight job rather than a top-up, which is fine if you have dedicated parking and a problem if you do not. If you are comparing against the rest of the market, the electric cars section shows what else is available here at various price points.

The four-seat problem

The Polestar 5 is configured as a 4+1, which in practice means four proper seats and a middle rear position nobody will volunteer for. At AED 439,000 that is a real constraint and it is the thing most likely to catch a buyer out, because at this money people often assume they are buying a family car. They are not. They are buying a four-seat grand tourer with a long body and a 14.5-inch Android Automotive screen, finished with a 21-speaker Bowers and Wilkins system.

Say it plainly: if you have three children, or you regularly carry three adults in the back, this is the wrong car and no amount of range or power fixes that. Buyers in that position should be looking at a large SUV instead, and the luxury cars and premium listings pages carry the alternatives in this price bracket. If the four-seat layout genuinely suits how you drive, it stops being a compromise and becomes the reason the car feels as special as it does.

What used Polestars are worth in the UAE

This is where CarsClub's own data earns its place, and the picture is sobering. As of 2 November 2026 there are seven active Polestar listings on the site. Four are Polestar 3 SUVs from 2024 and 2025, all asking between AED 135,000 and AED 165,000. The other three are 2023 Polestar 2 saloons, asking AED 65,000 to AED 75,000.

Three-year-old Polestar 2s changing hands in the sixties and seventies tells you something important about how this brand holds value in the UAE market, and it is not flattering. Polestar is still establishing itself here, the dealer network is small relative to the German brands, and used demand reflects that. Anyone buying a Polestar 5 at AED 439,000 should assume depreciation steeper than an equivalent Porsche or Mercedes and budget accordingly, or lease rather than buy. On the other side of that coin, the used Polestar market is an unusually cheap way into a well-built EV: browse the Polestar listings and the Polestar 3 specifically if the badge matters less to you than the engineering. Our Polestar 4 guide covers the model that sits below it.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Polestar 5 in the UAE?

The Polestar 5 starts at AED 439,000 in the UAE through Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, with order books opened at the end of October 2026. Polestar has not published a separate price for the higher-powered Performance version, so confirm that figure with the distributor directly before ordering.

What is the real-world range of the Polestar 5?

Polestar claims 678 km WLTP for the Dual motor and 558 km for the Performance. WLTP is measured in mild conditions without air-conditioning load, so expect a noticeable shortfall in UAE summer driving at motorway speeds. Treat the claim as a ceiling rather than a planning figure.

Should I buy the Dual motor or the Performance?

The Dual motor, for most buyers. The Performance adds 136 hp but gives up 120 km of claimed range on the same 112 kWh battery. On typical UAE long drives that range matters more than the extra power, unless outright acceleration is specifically what you are paying for.

How many people does the Polestar 5 seat?

It is a 4+1 layout: four usable seats plus a middle rear position that is not suited to adults on any real journey. If you routinely carry three people in the back or have three children, a large SUV is the more sensible purchase at this price point.

Do Polestars hold their value in the UAE?

Not strongly, on current evidence. CarsClub's used listings show 2023 Polestar 2 saloons asking AED 65,000 to AED 75,000 and 2024 to 2025 Polestar 3 SUVs at AED 135,000 to AED 165,000. Budget for steeper depreciation than an equivalent German rival, or consider leasing.

Is the Polestar 5 worth AED 439,000?

As a piece of engineering, the Polestar 5 is convincing, the 800-volt platform and the 748 hp Dual motor are the right specification, and the Dual motor is clearly the version to have. As a financial decision in the UAE specifically, go in with your eyes open. The used evidence on this site suggests Polestar depreciation here is steep, the four-seat layout narrows who the car suits, and 678 km is a number you will not see in July.

If that is acceptable, it is a genuinely distinctive car. If it is not, the smarter play may be a used Polestar 3 at a third of the money. Check Polestar's own UAE specification pages at polestar.com before ordering.
