The Mercedes S Class price in UAE spans an extraordinary range: from AED 69,000 for a 2016 car to AED 749,000 for a recent example. That is a factor of more than ten, for the same nameplate, in the same market.

Interest in the S-Class on CarsClub has more than doubled in the past 30 days: views are up 144%, the sharpest rise of any high-volume model on the site. This guide explains what that AED 69,000-to-749,000 spread actually buys you, and which end of it makes sense.

Mercedes S Class price in UAE today

CarsClub lists 13 active S-Class examples. Here is the current spread:

Model year Body Location Asking price (AED)
2026 Sedan Dubai 510,000
2026 Sedan Ajman 89,000
2025 Sedan Dubai 704,999
2025 Sedan Dubai 598,999
2024 Sedan Dubai 749,000
2021 Sedan Dubai 299,990
2018 Convertible Dubai 325,002
2018 Sedan Ajman 95,000
2016 Sedan Ajman 89,000
2016 Sedan Ajman 69,000
2015 Coupe Ajman 73,000

CarsClub active listings, September 2026.

Two things jump out. Location correlates strongly with price, because the sub-AED 100,000 cars are almost all in Ajman, while Dubai listings cluster at the top. And an AED 89,000 car is listed as a 2026 model year alongside a AED 510,000 2026 car, which is worth scrutinising rather than taking at face value.

That is the general warning for this segment: when a price looks impossible for the model year, verify specification, history and identity first. Run the free VIN check and read our guide on checking accident history in the UAE before you travel to see it.

Which generation should you buy?

The UAE used market carries two main generations, and choosing between them is the central decision.

The W222 (roughly 2014 to 2020) is behind almost every sub-AED 150,000 car above. A well-maintained example is still genuinely impressive, but it is now old enough that deferred maintenance is the dominant risk.

The W223 (2021 onward) brought the current interior architecture, the large central display and updated driver-assistance systems. The 2021 car at AED 299,990 is the entry point to this generation, roughly 40% of a new car's price for a current-generation vehicle, and the most interesting listing in the table.

Coupe and Convertible variants also appear (the 2018 Convertible at AED 325,002, the 2015 Coupe at AED 73,000). Smaller market, slower resale, but distinctive.

Recommendation: an early W223 is the sweet spot: current generation, steepest depreciation absorbed, and new enough that major wear items should not yet be due.

Running costs in the UAE

Cost item Typical range Notes
Comprehensive insurance Estimated 2-4% of value per year Indicative band only, actual quotes vary substantially by driver age, history and emirate. Get a real quote
Salik tolls AED 4-6 per gate crossing Dubai variable tolling, higher at peak times. Confirm current rates at rta.ae
Servicing Typically annual or ~10,000-15,000 km Main-dealer servicing on an S-Class is expensive; independent specialists are widely available in the UAE and considerably cheaper
Registration and testing Annual Standard renewal and testing, see our Tasjeel guide
Fuel Moderate to high Depends heavily on engine. Check current UAE petrol prices

These are indicative market bands rather than quotes. Insurance is worth pricing before you commit, because on an older high-value car some insurers offer only third-party cover, which changes the calculation entirely.

The bigger running-cost point on an older S-Class is not scheduled maintenance but unscheduled repair. Air suspension, electronics and climate components on a ten-year-old luxury sedan produce bills that can exceed a meaningful fraction of the car's value. Budget a contingency fund, not just a service budget.

What goes wrong

Items to have specifically inspected, particularly on W222-generation cars:

  • AIRMATIC air suspension. Air struts and the compressor are the classic S-Class wear item, and UAE heat accelerates rubber degradation. Check the car sits level after standing overnight and listen for the compressor running excessively.
  • Climate control and rear-seat electronics. The S-Class has an enormous number of motors and modules. Test every seat function, every screen and the rear climate zones individually.
  • COMAND / MBUX infotainment. Screen failures and software faults are not rare. Test thoroughly, including reversing camera and navigation.
  • Cooling system. Essential in this climate. Look for any history of overheating or coolant loss.
  • Service history continuity. A gap of two years in the service record on a car like this is a much bigger warning than on a mainstream sedan.

Our used car inspection checklist covers the general process. On an S-Class, use a Mercedes specialist rather than a general workshop, because the diagnostic equipment matters.

The AED 69,000 question

The cheapest S-Class on CarsClub is a 2016 car at AED 69,000, less than a new mainstream family sedan.

This is the most common trap in the UAE luxury market. The purchase price is not the cost. A ten-year-old S-Class with deferred maintenance can generate repair bills in a single year exceeding what you paid; air suspension alone can be a five-figure job.

The honest guidance: buy a cheap S-Class only if a specialist has inspected it, you have seen continuous service history, and you have a repair contingency roughly equal to the purchase price available. Missing any one of those, the AED 299,990 W223 is the better financial decision, counterintuitive as that sounds.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Mercedes S-Class cost in the UAE?

CarsClub listings currently run from AED 69,000 for a 2016 example to AED 749,000 for a 2024 car. The entry point to the current W223 generation is around AED 299,990 for a 2021 model. Sub-AED 100,000 cars are typically older W222 examples, most of them listed in Ajman.

Is a used Mercedes S-Class reliable in the UAE?

A well-maintained example can be, but the S-Class is mechanically and electronically complex and repair costs are high. Air suspension, climate control electronics and infotainment are the common problem areas. Continuous service history matters more on this car than almost anything else, and a specialist pre-purchase inspection is essential.

Should I buy a W222 or W223 S-Class?

The W223 (2021 onward) is the current generation and an early example around AED 299,990 offers the best balance of modern technology and absorbed depreciation. The W222 is far cheaper but old enough that deferred maintenance is the dominant risk, so only buy one with verified history and a repair contingency budget.

How much does it cost to insure an S-Class in the UAE?

Comprehensive insurance is typically estimated in the range of 2 to 4% of vehicle value annually, but this is an indicative band rather than a quote. Actual premiums vary significantly by driver age, claims history and emirate, and some insurers offer only third-party cover on older high-value cars. Always get a real quote before buying.

Why are some S-Class cars in Ajman so much cheaper?

Listings in Ajman skew towards older, higher-mileage W222 cars, which explains much of the price gap. When a price looks implausible for the stated model year, verify the vehicle's specification, accident history and identity with a VIN check before travelling to view it.

Find your Mercedes S-Class

The S-Class rewards buying on history rather than price. The AED 69,000 car and the AED 299,990 car are not the same purchase with different budgets. They are different risk profiles entirely.
