Mercedes GLC Electric UAE: Range, Price & Launch
8 min read

The Mercedes GLC electric UAE launch is official in one sense. The electric GLC is listed as "Coming soon" on the official Mercedes-Benz Dubai website, with a register-interest form, but it has no AED price and no delivery date yet. The headline model is the GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ Technology. It is rated at 360 kW, with a WLTP range of up to 713 km and 330 kW fast charging. For Dubai buyers comparing it with a petrol GLC, a BMW iX3 or a Lexus RZ, here is what's confirmed and what's still unknown.

What Is the Electric Mercedes GLC?

This is not a petrol GLC with a battery added. Mercedes-Benz unveiled it in September 2025, just before the IAA show in Munich. It sits on MB.EA, the brand's new dedicated electric platform, and uses an 800-volt system. The petrol and hybrid GLC continue alongside it. That matters because the combustion GLC is one of the most popular premium SUVs on CarsClub, with 25 active listings and more than 1,000 views in the past 30 days.

From the outside, the electric GLC is recognisable by its illuminated grille. Mercedes Dubai says it uses 942 light points, with an optional illuminated frame. Inside, buyers can choose the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which runs as one continuous panel across the dashboard, or the three-screen MBUX Superscreen. The Dubai page lists Avantgarde, AMG Line and AMG Line Plus grades on 19 to 21-inch wheels.

Confirmed Specs: GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ Technology

Figures are from Mercedes-Benz's launch data as reported by electrive. WLTP figures were provisional at launch.

Battery94 kWh net
WLTP rangeUp to 713 km
DC charging330 kW; 10 to 80% in 22 min
0 to 100 km/h / top speed4.3 s / 210 km/h
TowingUp to 2,400 kg

The electric GLC is about 4.85 m long with a 2.97 m wheelbase. Boot space is 570 litres, rising to 1,740 litres with the seats folded, plus a 128-litre front trunk. AC charging runs at 11 kW as standard, with a 22 kW onboard charger optional. Air suspension with adaptive damping is fitted, and rear-axle steering of up to 4.5 degrees is optional. A heat pump is standard. Mercedes Dubai adds that the drivetrain uses a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle and can disconnect the front axle to save energy.

The Dubai page also lists a second battery, 85.5 kWh, alongside the 94.4 kWh unit, and mentions GLC 250, GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 300+ derivatives. It does not give power or range for those versions, or say which will be offered locally. Mercedes has not published a torque figure in the sources above, so we haven't included one.

Mercedes GLC Electric UAE Launch Date

No date has been announced. Mercedes-Benz Dubai's site shows the model as "Coming soon", with "Register your interest" and "Configure now" options. Gargash Enterprises is Mercedes-Benz's Dubai distributor. YallaMotor's 2026 Mercedes launch guide says the electric GLC arrives in the UAE in late 2026, but that is the publication's estimate, not a Mercedes statement. Europe got the car first, with a launch planned for the first half of 2026. Expect UAE deliveries within the next few months, but treat any exact month as unconfirmed.

Expected UAE Price

Mercedes has not published an AED price for the electric GLC. For context, the UK starting price is £60,350, according to Electrifying.com. UK and UAE prices aren't directly comparable.

The current combustion GLC's UAE prices, from Mercedes Dubai, are listed below. These are current-model prices, not a forecast for the electric car:

  • GLC 200 4MATIC: from AED 298,900
  • GLC 300 4MATIC: from AED 319,900
  • Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC: from AED 404,900
  • Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE: from AED 551,900

Given its 360 kW output and standard air suspension, the GLC 400 4MATIC sits above the GLC 300 in specification, but its AED price will only be known when Gargash publishes it.

Range and Charging in UAE Heat

The WLTP figure of 713 km is a European lab result. electrive estimated around 500 km in real-world driving at launch, and that was a European estimate. A UAE summer adds two penalties: the air-conditioning runs all the time, and the battery itself needs active cooling. Expect less than the brochure figure in July and August, especially at 120 km/h on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The standard heat pump mostly helps in cold weather, so it is a smaller advantage here.

Charging needs a closer look too. The 330 kW peak needs an 800-volt-capable high-power charger. Mercedes says a DC/DC converter will be fitted "depending on market" so the car can charge properly at older 400-volt stations, and it hasn't confirmed whether GCC cars get one. Ask Gargash before you order. At home, an 11 kW wallbox charges the car overnight. If you're new to EV ownership, our guide to electric cars in Dubai covers charging networks and running costs.

The electric GLC's direct rival, BMW's Neue Klasse iX3, beat it to the UAE. It claims more range, with up to 805 km WLTP, and faster peak charging at up to 400 kW. The new Lexus RZ 500e has a smaller battery and less range but is already in Al-Futtaim showrooms. The Porsche Macan Electric is the sportier premium alternative. Alba Cars reports it from AED 310,000, though that is a dealer-reported figure. On paper the Mercedes wins on towing (2.4 tonnes), boot-plus-frunk space and the Hyperscreen. The iX3 wins on range. Your choice will come down to badge loyalty and final AED pricing.
