2025 BMW XM Review

2025 BMW XM Review: Oh, that big SUV with the angry-looking snout hurtling up the highway in your rear-view mirror! It might look like Peppa Pig’s moody older brother, but it’s actually the 2025 BMW XM – a plug-in hybrid loaded with both power and luxury. It’s not quite refined enough to compete with the best of its elite class, but it’s still a great car! The XM’s twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, combined with its plug-in hybrid system, produces an impressive 644 horsepower in the standard model and up to 738 in the XM Label version. We tested the standard trim and found it could reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The XM wasn’t the best at going slow, but it was great at going fast! There’s a modestly sized battery pack onboard for when you want to potter around town on electric power alone, which you can do for 29 miles according to our testing. The XM is a real treat inside, with sumptuous furnishings, sumptuous comfort and plenty of space. The curved dashboard display up front is really lovely, and you’ll find all the latest driver-assistance systems at your disposal. And there’s more! BMW even includes a set of throw pillows for the back seats. That about sums up the XM: a slightly imperfect but still lovely mix of poshness and performance in a size-XXL SUV that can run silently or give you a real thrill with a roar from its twin turbo V-8. It’s certainly exciting, but there are a few other expensive performance SUVs out there, like BMW’s X7 and the Mercedes-AMG GLS63, that do the same thing with more finesse.

While last year saw the addition of the 738-hp XM Label variant, which was a real treat for car enthusiasts, changes to the model for 2025 are minor. We’re delighted to announce that Highway Assistant, part of BMW’s Driving Assistance Professional Package, is now a standard feature on all 2025 XM models! The technology is really handy for letting you drive hands-free at up to 85 mph on the highway, and it even includes an eye-activated lane change feature! BMW Dubai

2025 BMW XM Engine & Performance

The lovely folks at BMW have been delighting us with their impressive powertrains for some time now, and the XM is no exception! This beauty boasts a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V-8, which is already a standout in the BMW line-up. But wait, there’s more! It’s now paired with an electric motor and a battery pack, creating an incredible 644 horsepower. The XM uses a coil-spring suspension system that’s augmented by adaptive dampers and active anti-roll bars, which is great! The ride isn’t as smooth and composed as we’d like, but in comfort mode it’s still pretty good. When you switch the XM to sport mode, it responds really well, but the ride does get a little stiff.

Powering the 2025 BMW XM is a twin-turbo V8 putting out 483 horsepower, teamed with an electric motor adding 194 hp for a total of 644 hp and 590 pound-feet of torque routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW’s M xDrive all-wheel-drive system is standard. Used BMW For Sale in Dubai

2025 BMW XM Battery Range

The XM’s 25.7-kWh battery pack is said to be good for about 30 miles of electric-only range per charge, and we were really pleased to get close in our testing, travelling 29 miles before the battery was depleted. The lovely folks at BMW tell us that the XM’s onboard charger is capable of juicing the battery at up to 7.4 kW and should be able to charge up to 100 percent in a little over three hours.

2025 BMW XM Interior

Everything about the XM’s cabin is high-end, including its optional vintage-look leather upholstery, which was first shown on a concept version of the SUV. It’s so lovely! The XM’s cabin is strictly a two-row affair, but don’t worry! You can still enjoy all the space you need. Instead of a large panoramic sunroof, you can choose a geometric-patterned faux suede headliner that features dramatic fibre-optic lighting. And if you’re looking for the ultimate in audio, you’ll love the optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with its gorgeous illuminated tweeters.
The large, curved display stretches across two-thirds of the dashboard and is not only a digital gauge cluster but also an on-board infotainment centre. It runs BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5 software interface, which is really easy to use. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and additional features such as SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a premium stereo system are included as well.
