The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck bears an otherworldly appearance, yet it is reported to rival the sales of leading pickup trucks. Sporting a stainless-steel structure with sharp edges that apparently possesses bulletproof attributes, Tesla’s electric truck exudes an undeniable toughness. The 2024 lineup offers two trims – a dual-motor AWD model capable of supplying 600-hp and an 845-hp tri-motor model named Cyberbeast. A single-motor rear-wheel drive Cybertruck is expected to be introduced in 2025 as well. Tesla states that the Cybertruck can haul a maximum weight of 11,000 pounds and has an expected driving range of up to 340 miles. Connected to a Tesla Supercharger, the electric vehicle can purportedly augment between 128 and 136 miles of range in 15 minutes.
Tesla is broadening its range to feature one of America’s favourite vehicle types- the pickup truck. Nonetheless, it will face some strong competitors from the Ford F-150 Lightning, the GMC Hummer EV, and the Rivian R1T. Chevy is also releasing its electric Silverado and the Ram 1500 REV is soon approaching its initial production stage.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The Cybertruck will provide three powertrain options in due course. At its release, all-wheel drive dual- and tri-motor models will be accessible, with a single-motor model featuring rear-wheel drive scheduled to join the range in the 2025 model year. It is reported that the 600-hp AWD Cybertruck will achieve 60 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 112 mph. Those seeking unparalleled performance should seriously consider the Cyberbeast, which boasts three motors yielding a total of 845 horsepower. Tesla claims that this will effectively transport the lorry from 0 to 60mph in just 2.6 seconds (!) and it has a maximum speed of 130mph. Each Cybertruck comes with an adaptable air suspension, which can be adjusted while driving, and can offer up to 17 inches of ground clearance. Paired with its 35-degree approach and 28-degree departure angles, the Tesla pickup has the potential to be an imposing off-road vehicle.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Range, Charging, and Battery Life
Tesla has not revealed the battery sizes of the Cybertruck yet. However, the company claims that when connected to a Supercharger, the AWD model can add 136 miles in 15 minutes, while the Cyberbeast can add 128 miles in the same period. The driving range of the electric truck depends on the number of motors, but Tesla estimates that AWD versions can cover 340 miles per charge, and the Cyberbeast can travel 320 miles. The aforementioned assertions increase to over 440 and 470 miles, correspondingly, with an elective range extender battery kit that fits inside the lorry’s cargo bed. When the rear-wheel drive Cybertruck reaches its destination, it’ll boast an estimated range of 250 miles.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Interior, Comfort
Those who believed the Tesla Model 3’s cabin was simplistic will experience a similar sensation when viewing the sparse interior of the Cybertruck. Although a variety of standard features and options remain undisclosed, initial images reveal a dash that is slab-like in appearance and controlled by one large touchscreen. Six individuals can ride comfortably in the Cybertruck and its cargo bed provides a capacity of 121 cubic feet. It even has a clever slide-out tailgate that serves as a ramp for loading ATVs and motorcycles.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Infotainment
Every Cybertruck features an expansive 18.5-inch touchscreen, horizontally placed at the centre of the dashboard. Rear-seat passengers also have access to a 9.4-inch touchscreen connected to the back of the centre console. It remains to be seen what infotainment and connectivity options will be provided, but it’s likely they’ll resemble those offered on Tesla’s other vehicles.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Safety
We anticipate that each Cybertruck model will come equipped with Tesla’s contentious hands-free Autopilot driving feature, alongside other driver-assistance technology. Please visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for further information regarding the Cybertruck’s crash-test results.
