2024 Nissan Pathfinder Review, is a practical choice for family transit. However, it is important to note that despite its rugged appearance, it is not designed to tackle off-road terrain like a Jeep or a Land Rover. Even the beefed-up Rock Creek Edition does not improve its off-road capability. The Pathfinder is best suited for on-road driving, with a smooth V-6 engine that provides adequate power, a well-tuned suspension for comfort, and a spacious and quiet cabin. The maximum towing capacity is 6000 pounds, which exceeds that of rivals such as the Hyundai Palisade, the Kia Telluride, and the Toyota Highlander. However, we believe that there are better value options available among mid-size SUVs. Some of these options offer better handling for driving enthusiasts, while others provide genuine off-road capability.
Nissan’s mid-size SUV remains unchanged for 2024, including the rugged-looking Rock Creek Edition that was introduced last year.

Engine & Performance
Although the Pathfinder retains the 3.5-liter V-6 from the previous-generation model, it now features a new nine-speed automatic transmission instead of the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Most models with the V-6 engine produce 284 horsepower, while the Rock Creek trim generates 295 horsepower. While front-wheel drive comes standard, all trims have the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive. If you choose to upgrade to the all-wheel-drive system, you will also gain access to seven drive modes, including the off-road-focused Sand and Mud/Rut mode. At our test track, the front-wheel-drive Pathfinder SL reached 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive model achieved it in 6.6 seconds. This makes the all-wheel-drive Pathfinder faster than both the Kia Telluride and the Toyota Highlander. Although the handling is forgettable and unentertaining, the Pathfinder’s ride is smooth. Nissan’s attention to sound-deadening elements also ensures a quiet cabin when cruising.

Interior & Comforts
The Pathfinder boasts a contemporary and rugged interior design with comfortable front seats and well-positioned controls. It has three rows of seating that can accommodate up to eight passengers, but buyers have the option to exchange the standard second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs, which is a desirable feature in a family crossover, reducing capacity to seven. Nissan has incorporated storage cubbies throughout the cabin, including a spacious bin beneath the center console that is accessible to the driver or front-seat passenger. Upper trim levels are equipped with luxurious features such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
Infotainment & Dashboard
The Nissan Rogue comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen as standard, which runs the latest version of the NissanConnect software interface. The SL and Platinum models come with a larger 9.0-inch display as standard. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the former can be synced wirelessly on upper trims. Optional features include a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless smartphone charging pad, SiriusXM satellite radio, a head-up display, and an in-dash navigation system. While a fairly basic six-speaker stereo is standard, a 13-speaker Bose system is optional.
