The cheapest used Range Rover Sport in the UAE on CarsClub is AED 44,000, a 2014 car in Abu Dhabi. The most expensive is AED 550,001. And the single most useful thing anyone can tell you about this model is that the AED 44,000 one will almost certainly cost you more over three years than a AED 150,000 one will.
Interest is climbing fast: Range Rover Sport views on CarsClub rose 44.4 percent last month, from 1,356 to 1,958, against 12 active listings covering 2014 to 2024. This guide is about spending that interest well.
What your budget buys
| Budget (AED) | Year band | Reality |
|---|---|---|
| 44,000-90,000 | 2014-2017 | Out of warranty, repair-led ownership |
| 150,000 | 2020-2021 | The pragmatic zone |
| 220,000-250,000 | 2022 incl. SVR | Performance variants appear here |
| 390,000-550,000 | 2023-2024 | Current generation, low mileage |
Current CarsClub listings bear this out: 2017 cars at AED 70,000 and AED 90,000, 2020 and 2021 cars clustered at AED 149,999 to AED 150,000, a 2022 SVR at AED 249,999, and 2023-2024 examples from AED 398,999 to AED 550,001.
Why cheap ones are expensive
A Range Rover Sport is a heavy, complex, air-sprung luxury SUV with an electrical architecture to match. None of that complexity depreciates. The purchase price falls; the cost of keeping the car working does not.
At AED 44,000 to AED 70,000 you are buying a nine- to twelve-year-old example of exactly that machine, usually with no warranty and often with deferred maintenance that the previous owner decided was the next owner's problem. The parts most likely to need attention, air struts, compressor, cooling system, infotainment modules, are individually capable of costing a meaningful fraction of the car's entire purchase price.
Say it plainly: if AED 70,000 is your total budget including running costs, this is the wrong car. That money buys a far more reliable SUV elsewhere, and our guide to the best SUVs in the UAE covers alternatives that will not surprise you. There is nothing wrong with wanting a Range Rover Sport. There is a great deal wrong with buying one you can only just afford to purchase.
The value buy
The 2020-2021 cars around AED 150,000 are the value buy.
They are recent enough to have the modern cabin and driver assistance, old enough that the brutal first depreciation has already happened to somebody else, and young enough that a well-kept example still has plenty of life in the expensive components. Crucially, at that price there is room in most buyers' budgets for a proper pre-purchase inspection and a contingency fund, which is the actual difference between enjoying this car and resenting it.
On the SVR: the 2022 SVR at AED 249,999 is a tempting number for a supercharged V8. Be clear-eyed about it. Fuel consumption is heavy, tyres are expensive and short-lived in this heat, brakes are a specialist cost, and insurance is rated accordingly. Buy it because you want that engine, not because it looks like value against a lesser trim.
Air suspension
This is the defining ownership risk and it deserves its own test, not a mention.
The Range Rover Sport uses air springs. Rubber components degrade faster in sustained UAE heat than in cooler climates, so cars here reach failure earlier in their lives than mileage alone suggests.
Test it before you make an offer. Ask to see the car after it has stood overnight, or at minimum several hours, and look at it before anyone starts it. A car that has settled unevenly, one corner low, or the body resting near its bump stops, has a leak. Start it and time how long the compressor runs before the car rises. A long run is a compressor working against a leak, and compressors that have been doing that for months tend to fail shortly after the bag they were compensating for.
Never accept "it just needs a sensor." Get a full system diagnostic and a written quote from an independent Land Rover specialist before you agree a price. If the seller will not allow that, walk. On this model, that refusal is information.
Also check every electronic function, windows, tailgate, seat memory, infotainment, cameras, terrain response. Intermittent electrical faults on these cars are both common and expensive to chase.
One more thing worth knowing about air suspension on a UAE car specifically: the system is often what tempts owners into lowering the vehicle for looks or raising it for dune driving, and both put load on components already working harder than the designers assumed. Ask directly whether the car has been used off-road or on soft sand. Sand is unusually hard on an air-sprung SUV because fine grit works into the rubber gaiters and abrades the bags from the outside, and a car that has spent weekends in the desert can look immaculate while quietly being years further through its suspension life than the odometer suggests.
The related check is underbody condition. Get the car on a lift, not just on a forecourt, and look at the underside for sand packing, damaged protection plates and corrosion at the suspension mounting points. Coastal humidity in the UAE causes more corrosion than people expect on a car that spends its nights parked outside near the water.
What it costs to run
Plan for servicing at an independent Land Rover specialist rather than the authorised network once the car is out of warranty; the difference is substantial. Set aside a genuine annual contingency on top of scheduled servicing, because on a car of this complexity something unscheduled is the norm rather than the exception.
Fuel is a real line item: this is a heavy SUV with large petrol engines, and the supercharged variants are heavier still on consumption. Check what that means at current rates on the UAE petrol prices page. Salik is AED 4 off-peak and AED 6 in peak windows under variable pricing in force since 31 January 2025, see our Salik charges guide.
Before buying, run the chassis number through CarsClub's VIN check and work through our used car inspection checklist. Confirm any outstanding finance is cleared before money moves; the RTA publishes ownership transfer requirements at rta.ae.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a used Range Rover Sport in the UAE?
CarsClub currently lists 12 active Range Rover Sports from AED 44,000 for a 2014 car to AED 550,001 for a 2024 example. The 2020 and 2021 cars cluster around AED 150,000, 2017 cars sit at AED 70,000 to AED 90,000, and a 2022 SVR is listed at AED 249,999.
Is a used Range Rover Sport reliable in the UAE?
It is a complex, air-sprung luxury SUV, and UAE heat accelerates wear on rubber and electrical components. A well-maintained recent example with documented history can be dependable. An old, cheap one with no service record generally is not, and the repair costs do not fall with the purchase price.
What is the most expensive thing to fix on a Range Rover Sport?
Air suspension is the fault owners meet most often, and a failed strut is usually followed by a compressor that has been overworked compensating for it. Cooling system work and infotainment or control module failures are the other significant costs, all made more likely by sustained heat.
Which Range Rover Sport year should I buy in the UAE?
The 2020 to 2021 cars, typically around AED 150,000, offer the best balance. They have the modern interior and assistance systems, have passed the steepest depreciation, and leave room in most budgets for a proper inspection and a repair contingency.
Should I buy a Range Rover Sport SVR?
Only if you specifically want the supercharged V8. It carries heavy fuel consumption, short tyre life in this climate, specialist brake costs and higher insurance. As a performance purchase it makes sense. As a value purchase against a standard trim, it does not.
