Despite its athletic skills, the RS6 Avant is still a fully functional wagon with room to seat five in comfort, luxury class-appropriate interior materials and features, and contemporary infotainment and technology. The rear hatch opens to 30 cubic feet of cargo space, fulfilling the wagon promise. Its brawny proportions are accented with a number of aggressive aerodynamic bits, but it still manages to stop short of appearing ostentatious. With former wagon rivals like the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo discontinued the RS6 Avant stands alone as a class of one. Its closest competitors now come from the performance-SUV world, hot rods like the BMW X5 M and Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S, which are almost as exciting but not nearly as rare.
