1. The customer contacts RTA at 8009090.
2. They provide the traffic file’s number and the plate number at the call centre.
3. The customer pays the fee through a credit card.
4. The customer collects the certificate from a customer happiness centre in Deira or Al Barsha after handing over the plates.

Certificate for Export (CFE) issued by the approved establishments meant for export by the merchant exporter / on account exporter shall be got counter signed by the EIA concerned prior to shipment.

Roll-on/roll-off (RORO or ro-ro) vessels:
RoRo vessels are designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, trailers and railway wagons, which are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels.

RoRo tends to be cheaper than container shipping, but carries more risk as containers are secured and packed, whereas RoRo is driven on and off the ramps among many other vehicles.

This is in contrast to lift-on/lift-off (LOLO) vessels, which use a crane to load and unload cargo.

RORO vessels have in-built ramps that allow cargo to be efficiently rolled on and off the vessel in port.

Container shipping:
Car shipping in a dedicated container is more expensive than other modes.The car is securely packed in your own container and is generally safer than RoRo as we pack the car tightly and the car is never driven until it reaches port. You can also pack your personal belongings into the container with your car.

Shipping a car in a consolidated container is more economical than other methods. The car is securely packed in a container with two or more other cars.

Common shipping options include container shipping, where your car is placed in a container for protection, and roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping, where the car is driven onto the shipping vessel. The choice depends on your budget and the level of protection you require.

Most shipping companies provide tracking services. You can request a tracking number from your shipping agent and use it to monitor your car’s journey online. Ensure you receive all necessary contact information and updates from your shipping provider.

If you notice damage upon arrival, document it thoroughly with photos and notify your shipping company immediately. Review your insurance policy to understand coverage for damages and file a claim if necessary. It’s crucial to address any issues promptly to facilitate the resolution process.
